This is Patriot #7 in my series about ancestors who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Captain Westley Burnham was a mariner from the Chebacco Parish of Ipswich, Massachusetts (now the town of Essex). #genealogy #RevolutionaryWar #america250 https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2026/04/my-revolutionary-war-patriots-captain.html

@EllenInEdmonton Yes, Nathaniel Treadway (1614 - 1689) from Watertown, Massachusetts is also in my family tree. He is my 9th great grandfather, married to Sufferana Haynes (love that name!). I descend from their daughter Lydia who married Josiah Jones. Here is a blog post with my lineage https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2012/11/surname-saturday-treadway-of-watertown.html

Over the years I have blogged about local history and genealogy in New England. Some of the stories can only be described as "weird". So, for "Weird Wednesday" I'm posting one of those strange stories. Today's story is about the Anti-Gravity Society. Did you even know this existed? https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2013/11/anti-gravity-history-rocks-finance-and.html

  • Levi Younger of Gloucester, Massachusetts is the 5th patriot I've written about in this series on the Revolutionary War ancestors in my family tree.

Levi Younger of Gloucester, Massachusetts is the 5th patriot I've written about in this series on the Revolutionary War ancestors in my family tree. He was captured at sea as a prisoner of war. In a twist of fate, his son, Levi Younger, Jr. was also captured at sea during the War of 1812. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2026/04/my-revolutionary-war-patriots-levi.html
