@everton137 Oh yeah, no doubt. It's worth having this conversation because it's got so many things going on in it, and it'd be neat to see what kind of research could go into it as long as it's not just looking at one point on the network when even dot social's been defederated by multiple servers as a moderation headache
Plus I will say on the queer fedi side that there's definitely a whiteness problem still, even if not male-dominated
@everton137 It's a fair bit complicated when the different communities on the fediverse are as stratified as they are. We've got an entire queer section of the network which has largely blocked off techbro nonsense, so outreach to there is limited depending on where you land (including dotsocial)
I guess it all comes back to the techbros in the end on that one
@stepleton I'll check if my stepdad still has the commodore floppies I inherited from my grandfather
