I was not born in Scotland, but I have now lived in Scotland for more than half my life (and I am over 60). -
Going through mandatory SLOPerator training at work.Going through mandatory SLOPerator training at work. An example was "Don't ask the AI how much time you get off for vacation, instead provide it the corporate handbook, tell it which chapter is about time off, and ask for a two sentence summary and there will be more likely to get the right answer." Oh! So do everything except the last step and then spend five times longer crafting a prompt instead of reading the chapter of the document. So efficient!

when do you usually use the man page for a complex command line tool to answer a question you have?@b0rk for me, it's an old habit. I started in the 90s when these search tools were in their infancy and connections to the Internet were frequently not always on. So relying in man pages and massive books I printed from TLDP were my goto. That still tends to be my preferred starting point.

Mother-in-law wants a new computer.@mathzy The cheapest way to get a big screen is to buy a TV and connect to a PC via HDMI. The good news is most modern distros have an excellent HiDPI implementation (especially with KDE Plasma) which can make a 4K display have the same "resolution" of a 1080p display but with much finer details. Great for folks who are with vision impairments. Happy to help you with configs if you have questions, but most of this works "out of box" now.
