    Mother-in-law wants a new computer. Only caveat: it needs a big screen.

    I'm considering a mini-PC for her and just buy a decently sized monitor of her choosing.

    Of course, I'm advising Linux so she doesn't have to log into any big tech slop.

    She doesn't seem averse to the idea.

      @mathzy The cheapest way to get a big screen is to buy a TV and connect to a PC via HDMI. The good news is most modern distros have an excellent HiDPI implementation (especially with KDE Plasma) which can make a 4K display have the same "resolution" of a 1080p display but with much finer details. Great for folks who are with vision impairments. Happy to help you with configs if you have questions, but most of this works "out of box" now.
