@pluralistic While I’m aware politicians exaggerate/use hyperbole to extremes at times, it seems we’ve arrived at a point in time where there needs to be accountability for outright lies/misdirection in politics. I think there are enough people who’d still want the top job if there was a threat of sanctions against them personally for not at least ‘trying’ to uphold promises. When they fail: Scapegoating the most vulnerable people is a despicable tactic, and I see it used all the time.

The People@kplx And now I feel bad looking at this comic strip on my phone! Beyond that though, there has to be a sensible way to read on a phone without looking like you should be swinging from the belfry at Notre Dame. At the moment, no matter what you’re looking at, the vibe we’re all giving off isn’t a good one.

I dunno what #history you’ve been reading, but if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, I’ve got bad news.@connynasch @paninid Hopefully Farage will be a footnote in history and not a major chapter. That’s the hope, at least. If he gets real power I can only assume everyone will suffer his decisions, even outside the UK.

We need to watch out for the “Trumps” out there.
