Oh, my! This is so good! The lace and cotton scraps and the translucent shirtwaist threads seem to be fluttering away in the hot draft of the fire, blowing from the flaming windows, falling towards the viewer, a reminder of the women who fell like leaves. That's throat-catching art that grabs the mind and heart to make us understand!

It just reminded me of when I was in high school drama club eons ago. We did the musical "Superman", and my sister was the phone booth. Rather than having black-clad stage hands move the booth on and off stage, my sis hid inside the phone booth, and made it "dance" on and off.
Three Good Things Today -
1. Yesterday morning it was -2°F when I left for work. Today it was 38°F when I got home from work. That's a change from winter deep freeze to the first hopeful whiff of spring, in only a day and a half! Ahhh yes!
2. I have got a co-worker trained and scheduled to cover special tests next Wednesday. I've been the sole person covering specials for over two years. The prospect of just staying home on some special test days feels so luxurious!
3. Several bits of political news today that were "Oh yeah!" moments of people-powered defiance, which lifted my spirits and boosted my faith that we can beat this. (To those of you posting news of these "wins", keep it up! You are the antidote to depression and the nourishment for further efforts!)

Yeah, after 50 years of breaking his heart, they finally won a World Series, once he was gone. We concluded that he was helping them from wherever he was up there. He would've loved the Baby Shark shenanigans!

Evidence of newspaper box scores -
A page from my dad's desk calendar from 2017, just before he died. He had been faithfully cutting out the daily box score for his baseball team (Expos/Nats) ever since 1969, and was still doing it right to the end. He was miffed that during the final year or two, there was not always a box score in the paper, if the game had finished late. He thought that they should post two box scores the following day, so he wouldn't have gaps in his collection!
