    #TIL You can copy or rename files without retyping the path:

    ❯ cp /your/long/path/config.toml{,.bak}

    This expands to:

    cp /your/long/path/config.toml /your/long/path/config.bak

    Works also with `echo` (nice for testing).

    Thanks to @irom for recently pointing me in this direction. 👍️

    I was not aware of this technique until recently... and yes I see also there are more use cases e.g. with `cp` and `mv`. 👍

    @daesorin Thank you 😊

    Once in a while I have some random insights that I deem worth sharing. However, while I write up those thoughts I usually doubt whether it is worth the effort...

    Therefore, it is really nice to hear that one of those thoughts inspired you that much that you still remember it (and its provenience).

    Ja, diese Plattformen sind extrem weit verbreitet. Um so wichtiger ist es, ihre vermeintliche Unverzichtbarkeit wo immer es geht zu dekonstruieren und Alternativen zu stärken. Einen Fediverse-Button einzubauen ist niedrigschwellig und effektiv – nach außen und auch in die FFF-Bewegung hinein.

    > bragging about the size of your own balls

    Unfortunately, social media users seemingly still fail to convey irony. 😐

    Anyway, I am really interested in what objective criteria distinguishes valid critical feedback from mansplaining?

    I think there are obvious cases. OK. But the interesting cases are the non-obvious ones. As always, the question where to draw the line. And we should not forget that any discourse-pattern which is not based on quality of arguments but properties of the speaker (such as gender) can be utilized also for the "bad side".

    I totally get that it is annoying to get tons of dumb comments and I am not surprised that they mostly come from men. Nevertheless, I think "reply guy" and "mansplaining" are problematic concepts in serious debates.

    It takes some serious balls to dare to reply to this ⬆️ post with a criticism of the overgeneralizing pejorative concept of "reply guy". 😬

    But honestly, isn't this the basic idea of social media? You put thoughts into the public and people give you feedback, especially those who disagree. We will likely be able to observe this mechanism in the answers to this post... 😉
