back in the days of dos i did a little programming with turbo pascal, which was quite a joy to use at the time (it had a lovely tui ide and the compiler was _fast as hell_ compared to their C compiler)but Pascal had a weird quirk which was that strings were stored prepended with a length byte......which meant no string could exceed 255 charactersif you were doing, say, a text editor this was really annoying

@bvibber I see your point, and love this way of explaining it.But, if someone tells me I don't need a condom, then they are right because there is absolutely no way I'm touching that even with a protective layer of rubber!
