BTW if you didn't know: My dad's middle name was not Lysander. Nor was his first name Thomas. My name is not George, and I have no idea who Maria Fordham is/was nor what she did to gain such a bad reputation

I have heard some stories about a Maria Fordham, but if they are the same Maria I must say she really cleaned up her life.

I am writing to you because my father, unfortunately, is no longer with us. I am afraid he finally succumbed to the wounds he acquired while serving in the United States Marine Corps.

As his heir, naturally I am interested in this. However, I am not sure why you get to decided that 10% of my inheritance goes to charity, and 45% goes to you. That seems quite steep, that you should be able to dictate the outcome of 55% of my money.

So my mom receive a TOTALLY LEGIT LETTER, supposedly from a lawyer in Canada, wanting to give my dad his share of a $10 million dollar inheritance.

I'm sure the odds of getting that check are as good as the odds of my dad depositing it. Dad died in 2017.

However, they included email addresses to respond to. You likely know where this is going.

@jensimmons My employer is pushing pretty hard for us to use it. Despite my misgivings - mostly ethical - I decided to make an honest attempt.

Started well, ended up taking me much more time to fix things in the end. And that was that.

Unfortunately the ethical and environmental concerns get hand waved, so I tend to talk about actual results.

The short version: If I have a saw than randomly just cuts something entirely wrong, I don't figure out how to work around it. I throw the saw away. Unreliable tools are useless.
