@LibrarianRA I have to question the 1978 date for the advertisement, though. The 1978 copyright in the ad is for Garfield the Cat, but the 1978 model for Garfield was not at all like how the phone looks.

From the eyes and feet the character model is early 80s, which seems more likely to square with when Garfield would be licensed into things like telephones.

@Nine @foone If it helps any, *way* more than you would think of the BBS stuff was kids figuring out how to do annoying and time-consuming tricks with the cursor-manipulation commands.

@nev My wife has a particular, identifiable scream when she sees a house centipede, and needs me to come over and relocate it to somewhere in the basement or garage where it's welcome to do its business where she doesn't have to perceive it.

(She's phobic, to the point I will *not* be telling her of this video, but not upset about them being around.)
