CIRCLE WITH A DOT

I have a 300mm lens, which seems big, but really isn't. Most of my bird shots are for identifications. Occasionally I'll get a bird close enough that I really like the way the photo turned out.

Not much to see, but the reliable red-breasted nuthatch, cardinal and downy woodpecker hanging around the tall canopy.

I am impressed by how large gulls get. I know that they are ubiquitous birds, near shorelines, but still impressive. Herring gulls can get over 3lbs, the size of a small chicken.
Their wings also have a nice profile across the sky.

Went to Wychwood Park today. Lots of small birds, making a big noise. The days are getting longer and warmer.

Saw plenty of chickadees, goldfinches, house finches, downy woodpeckers, hairy woodpeckers, cardinals, juncos, red-tailed hawk, blue-jays, white-throat sparrow.

This chickadee was eating some of the tree buds.

@hannorein That's correct. It's odd in Toronto to have several cars linked together. On our main subway line, the subway is one long internal space. It seems a bit archaic to have to link up three cars.

@hannorein These are two cars linked/chained together. The city will make them 3 cars linked/chained together latter. The bollards are between the gap in cars.

Male harriers transfer prey to nesting mates midair. Female harriers quickly hop out of the ground located nest, amidst the bog.

Scarborough section of the new Crosstown train is painfully slow. Nothing is timed right, left turning cars get priority. Always standing still.
