@shafik I've never seen a plastic tea bag. I do have a silicone teaball shaped like a teabag, but silicone is okay as far as I know.

  • So let's assume, just for the sake of argument, that you were foolish enough to try to make a living by writing high-quality, well-researched, technical articles about Linux and free-software development.

@corbet @JustinDerrick DuckDuckGo does not show that website, but MSN (!) is near the top. To me, the awfulness under discussion is a small part of the wider problem of where people seek information. Using Google Search is bad, but at least it's not social media.

  • "AI Doesn’t Reduce Work—It Intensifies It"
    alison@burningboard.netA alison@burningboard.net

@pleia2 @robotistry AI-generated documentation for existing code is the best thing ever! AI-generated pseudocode for well-documented public APIs is pretty good. AI-generated code for new HW described by poorly written proprietary datasheets is not happening in 2026.
AI can't manage even code review for Linux kernel.

"We need to pause. We benefit from thoughtful reflection. A deep understanding of our projects that comes from being hands-on is valuable." From the point-of-view of _Thinking Fast, Thinking Slow_, I believe that you're saying we tend to process AI-generated code with System 1, but to make real progress, we need to spend quality time with System 2.
