But Chomsky was #Chomsky. The pioneering linguist of great integrity who for 60 years had shown us how to think clearly through the fog of propaganda. Now here he was, down in the sewer with the hucksters and sycophants and paedos.

And yet, I still cannot be angry with Chomsky. Yes, he let us down badly. But in the end, my choice to hero-worship Chomsky was mine. So I'm angry with me for that folly.
