Apple is going to add Mac Mini production to it's nascent server manufacturing campus in Houston this year.

Fun fact, Tim Cook started at Compaq Computer making servers in Houston.

A great (and underrated) city for this stuff. Port of Houston, two international airports, and at the junction of I-10 and I45 in the middle of the country. Plenty of room to spread out and huge workforce.

  • Thinking about decoding some of the more complicated protocols in ngscopeclient more fully on the GPU.

@azonenberg I know that STM32 uses a 16x oversampling on their UART ports, and you can change this to x8 or x1.

Maybe you find a couple of edges and then pick a few spots in the middle of the range to sample on?

You could run an average on those points and if it isn't 0 or 1 alert the user or make an adjustment.

Or just run a decimation filter before it?

@craigjb I see a 14 pin .1" header at bottome right with LEDs labled FPGA_DONE and FPGA_INIT_B - that's gotta be the JTAG port.

@craigjb Oh yeah, you probably need a heatsink/fan too, 25W is a lot of Pd.

@craigjb Maybe pull the reset low and see if power changes? It might be stuck trying to access DDR that isn't there, or possibly bitstream comes from off-board?

  • This is a good slide deck from TI on I3C vs I2C.
    0h00000000@ioc.exchange0 0h00000000@ioc.exchange

This is a good slide deck from TI on I3C vs I2C. I3C uses dynamic addressing (like DHCP), but you can assign a I2C address to a I3C component manually so you don't have to find it in a lookup table.
