As a young person, I loved it. The Olympics seemed to realize the best of humanity's potential. Good will across borders. Honesty. The desire to succeed and the ability to stand up again after failure. Beauty. Strength. Joy.

But the IOC has become so relentlessly self-serving and, morally, corrupt, I just can't stand it anymore.

Also, I am an American, and that '72 basketball thing is hard to get over.
