GotoSocial created the interactionPolicy for activities, but declined creating a FEP
Mastodon used the interactionPolicy and applied it to actor objects and will publish a FEP
Loops is using both
This is the magic of the fediverse.
Any project can innovate and create new extensions to push the fediverse forward.
And the biggest projects like @Mastodon will work to ensure compatibility, no matter how popular your project is, to the best of their ability.

@dansup I don't mean to be a dick, but that's a load of crap. Mastodon cares about compatibility only when it's convenient for its developers. I have two or three tickets open on their bug tracker asking for their ActivityPub implementation to conform to the spec and they have been ignoring them for multiple years.

@mariusor I included to the best of their ability for a reason, I'm sure they have valid reasons, as I know from Pixelfed, it's not easy to support things that other platforms do.
