    But that's not all:

Shortcuts Playground made more than 100 shortcuts to test itself.

Those shortcuts, plus all my previous ones, are now part of the completely redesigned MacStories Shortcuts Archive, launching today:

…but what if I could go deeper?

What if you could generate shortcuts…from Shortcuts itself, on-device?

Introducing Shortcuts Playground Remote: a generative shortcut that can make other shortcuts. Create, resume sessions, and remix older shortcuts. Works with Claude Code and Codex.

Shortcuts Playground Remote: The Generative Shortcut That Makes Other Shortcuts

After months of work and debugging, I launched Shortcuts Playground, a plugin for Claude Code and Codex that lets you create shortcuts for Apple’s Shortcuts app with natural language. The plugin is free and open source, and it can be installed in your favorite agent from this repo. You can read more about it in

Lastly, we made a dedicated mini-site for Shortcuts Playground:

      Link Preview Image
Shortcuts Playground — Describe it. Build it. Run it.

Turn plain English into real Apple Shortcuts. A Claude Code & Codex plugin from MacStories.

I learned so much about working with agents, designing a harness, and how Shortcuts works in building all this.

I fully expect to be Sherlocked in 3 weeks and I can't wait. If I could make this, imagine what Apple can offer.

      Enjoy!

@viticci @stroughtonsmith I always wanted this! Editing Shortcuts is such a pain and the Shortcutsapp is sooo buggy (I wish I could just edit them as text). I’ll be happy if I never have to touch the Shortcuts app again.

Attached: 1 image It'll be cool to see AI based shortcuts creation in iOS 27. I had made a working prototype of this a few months ago when I was working on a separate project. Happy to join the Shortcuts team if they're hiring prototypers ;)
