@pixelate If I may ask, which package did you use? I've always wanted to do this but have been a bit hesitant because I wasn't sure if it really worked and I don't have the docker knowledge and patience to debug. Does this one https://hub.docker.com/r/jmdaweb/nvda-remote-server for example, work?
@techsinger @pixelate I've used that one and it works fine. I think there is a more oficial one. I seem to remember @simon querying my choice of that one VS the official one. Answer was it was the first one that came up when I searched for one and I don't use it all that often.

So for a few years, the unofficial server was the only one that existed. At the time, I found that it froze or outright crashed occasionally, and we could never figure out why.
When the official server came out, I immediately switched to it, launched NVRA, and haven't looked back. It's been about five years and I use remote every day without a single crash.
The unofficial server might have gotten more stable now, I do know it has an easier setup process, but I've already got mine working and just haven't found a reason to try it again. -

@techsinger @klittle667 @pixelate I have a very rough setup script for Debian here, which I use to get my own servers running. It's short and might help people set it up on other operating systems.

I have too many damn projects though.

@TheQuinbox @simon @klittle667 @pixelate I'm sure it could be done and I'm sure you could do it. Having said that, it's work. The other issue is that it's only really vital to people with tons of machines. I have a small bunch and have been using the companion and the direct connection without major issues, particularly now that tailscale is so reliable.
