Milano, 1 mar. (askanews) - Dopo l'uccisione dell'ayatollah Khamenei nella prima ondata di attacchi israeliani e Usa, la guida suprema dell'Iran è passata ad interim ad un triumvirato di cui fa parte anche il presidente Massoud Pezeshkian, che è riapparso in tv mettendo fine alle indiscrezioni sulla sua morte. Sarebbe invece rimasto ucciso in uno dei raid l'ex presidente iraniano, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Il regime ha anche annunciato di aver intenzione di scegliere il successore della Guida suprema, che ha guidato il Paese per oltre 30 anni, nei prossimi due giorni.
La Costituzione iraniana affida la scelta del successore all'Assemblea degli Esperti, composta da 88 religiosi, che delibera con un voto a porte chiuse. Fra i candidati Hassan Khomeini, nipote del fondatore della Repubblica islamica.
Proseguono intanto gli attacchi su tutto l'Iran, sarebbero oltre 200 i morti, la metà bambine di una scuola elementare colpita nella prima ondata dei raid israeliani e Usa. Teheran ha risposto continuando a prendere di mira basi americane e Israele. Milan, March 1 (askanews) - Following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei in the first wave of Israeli and US attacks, the Supreme Leader of Iran has temporarily passed to a triumvirate which also includes President Massoud Pezeshkian, who reappeared on television, ending speculation about his death. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former Iranian president, would instead have been killed in one of the raids.
The regime has also announced that it intends to choose the successor to the Supreme Leader, who has led the country for over 30 years, in the next two days.
The Iranian constitution entrusts the choice of successor to the Assembly of Experts, comprised of 88 religious figures, which deliberates by secret ballot. Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic, is among the candidates.
Meanwhile, attacks continue throughout Iran, with over 200 dead, including half of the children from an elementary school hit in the first wave of raids by Israel and the US. Tehran has responded by continuing to target US bases and Israel.
