Un attacco aereo israeliano avrebbe colpito a Qom il palazzo in cui era riunita l’Assemblea degli Esperti per eleggere la nuova Guida Suprema. La notizia, però, è stata smentita dai media di Teheran: la sede sarebbe stata evacuata prima del raid. L’Iran avrebbe preso di mira le sedi diplomatiche statunitensi nel Golfo: missili sull’ambasciata a Riad, mentre risultano evacuate le rappresentanze in Iraq, Bahrein, Giordania e Kuwait. L’Idf entra in Libano via terra. Donald Trump, dopo l’incontro con il cancelliere Merz, dichiara: «L’Iran ora vuole parlare, ma è troppo tardi. Abbiamo distrutto Marina, aviazione e difese aeree». Poi attacca Londra e Madrid per la loro posizione sulle basi militari. «I prezzi del petrolio resteranno alti per un po’, ma scenderanno prima della fine della guerra», aggiunge. Intanto Teheran piange le studentesse uccise in una scuola nel sud del Paese: migliaia di persone hanno partecipato ai funerali. L’Onu chiede un’inchiesta, mentre si fa strada l’ipotesi di crimini di guerra.

An Israeli airstrike reportedly hit the building in Qom where the Assembly of Experts was meeting to elect the new Supreme Leader. However, the news was denied by Tehran’s media: the location had been evacuated before the raid. Iran had targeted US diplomatic missions in the Gulf: missiles on the embassy in Riyadh, while representations in Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait have been evacuated. The IDF is entering Lebanon via land. Donald Trump, after the meeting with Chancellor Merz, declares: “Iran now wants to talk, but it’s too late. We have destroyed its navy, aviation, and air defenses.” Then he attacks London and Madrid for their positions on military bases. “Oil prices will remain high for a while, but they will fall before the end of the war,” he adds. Meanwhile, Tehran mourns the student girls killed in a school in the south of the country: thousands of people participated in the funerals. The UN calls for an investigation, while the theory of war crimes is gaining ground.
