@AlexanderVI indeed. Riding the train between Sorrento and Pompeii (which is near the far shore to the right of Vesuvius in my photo) you see hillsides & cliffs composed of layer after layer of volcanic material. With my geologist eyes I looked at the city of Naples across the way knowing that it’s situated in a very dangerous & precarious place. May be next year or sometime in the next millenium but its days are numbered.
