I am back and working through the jet lag. My boss shared the bad news #today that some long-time colleagues will be let go, but at least my team is safe.

The past two weeks were very tough and emotional of course, my mom's funeral, staying at my parents' house and sorting through her things. On the bright side, I haven't spent this much time alone with my dad in forever and we talked a lot about the past and present.

I really hope he can manage on his own and with my sister's help. His dad went downhill very fast after his wife was gone. It must be so hard living alone after 50 years with a partner.
