Attention #YEGmusic-ians, karaoke superstars, & music fans:

The Heart of the City festival, held the first weekend of June in Edmonton's Little Italy neighbourhood, didn't get their grants approved in time this year, so they decided to get creative. Their musical headliner for the day is going to be the audience.

Yes, that's right, the plan is to jam. They're hoping for a record-breaking joyful noise. (I have no idea what record there is to break.) And they've picked out 6 songs in advance so you have a chance to learn the lyrics & chords:

1. We are family
2. Life is a highway
3. If I had a million dollars
4. Three little birds
5. This little light of mine
6. Lean on me

Sign up as a jammer by May 20 to get a festival t-shirt with your name (in tiny text) in the line-up on the back, plus a digital songbook to practice.

Signed-up or not, you can show up to witness or join in the chaos on Saturday June 6 at Giovanni Caboto Park.
