Jeff Bezos went on TV to whine about Zohran Mamdani to stop demonizing billionaires and the very next day Mayor Mamdani responded by forcing Amazon to pay $9M in fines accrued by Amazon delivery trucks for illegally idling and blocking NYC traffic.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @notyourfanboy @QasimRashid that screed has so many winners.
“I consider the phrase ‘tax the rich’ [...] to be just as hateful as [...] the phrase from the ‘river to the sea,'”
"it is the 1 percent that makes 50 percent of New York’s income taxes"
@evan @notyourfanboy @QasimRashid
Yup
"it is the 1 percent that makes 50 percent of New York’s income taxes"
Time to keep doubling that tax rate

@HakeemG @BruceMirken @QasimRashid literally you:

@alihan_banan @BruceMirken @QasimRashid
Rage bait? When you tell the truth about Mamdani's education and housing cuts.

This is what happens when you elect a mayor for the people, not the corporations. We need more of this.
@QasimRashid Curiously fining Amazon delivery trucks reminds me of a story I heard about the Stoneman Meadow Riots in Yosmite in 1970. There was a guy - Berkeley grad student as I recall - who was working as a ranger over the summer. At one point the FBI parked cars illegally as part of a crackdown. He grinned and said, "I've never written a ticket before!" and proceeded to ticket the FBI. No idea of how accurate it is, but that is funny.

Thanks JoeWo
@joewoJeff Bezos thinks people are
‘vilifying the rich.’ Bro, you're
one of the richest people
on earth and 1/3 of your
warehouse workers rely on
government assistance for
basic needs like food and rent.
You ARE the villain.

I like Mamdani for the most part, but I'm doing to him what his base does to other Democrats.

@QasimRashid
$9 million for a company the size of Amazon is less than the change you'd find in the sofa cushions on Bezos' yacht. -
@nf3xn @HakeemG @BruceMirken @QasimRashid this guy's a troll. He responds to anything to do with Zohran with bad faith attacks.
-
@glnfld @nf3xn @BruceMirken @QasimRashid
Are the Guardian and Gothamist trolls too, because they said the same thing. Are you suggesting Mamdani didn't cut housing and education funding?
Mamdani pledged affordable New York housing in his campaign. How is that going?
Mayor’s decision to appeal court order that the city must expand its housing voucher program has angered advocates for the homeless
the Guardian (www.theguardian.com)
@HakeemG @glnfld @nf3xn @BruceMirken @QasimRashid The Guardian are quite capable of trolling tbh.

@QasimRashid Mamdani is the reasonable version people want. FOR NOW.
Next time we roll out the guillotine. And that moment could be sooner than the billionaire class thinks. -

#Amazon #combustion #vans in England are being replaced by #electric ones, I think as a schedule. I suspect the #London ones are all electric though. I'd think there is no less reason why that would be sensible in #NYC.
