And there's other ways to make money, I've seen hybrid solutions where the software people do is open source and the server that the software runs on has premium access, and if people want full access they selfhost if they don't wanna pay up, but there's a lot of people out there that would pay to support a project like that.

@Bri @rommix0 But because of how people have been screwed over time and time again with closed source shit, they would rather things be what's called freemium open source, where the paid service involves functionality on the server end that would cost, rather than a full on closed source paid only product.
