@mastodonmigration is this for real?
It really happened, if that's what you mean.

@avuko @mastodonmigration I often think of how better the world would've been if Clinton or Harris had won.
@CStamp I can think of at least three intelligent & successful (male) colleagues that would *still* short circuit and lose their minds if asked to contemplate a Clinton presidency. Sooooo much permanent damage has been done over the past decade.

@dcdeejay But Spanky was a better choice? Sure, be scared of a highly qualified women and vote in not only someone totally unqualified for every single aspect of his job, but is the absolute worst person for that job. <shakes head>

I made the mistake of reading Facebook comments on a photo of Lady Liberty being arrested. A bunch of guys who probably look like roadkill toads were critiquing her appearance. As usual.
TBF, she has a decidedly green pallor to her. But I understand what you are saying.

@avuko@infosec.exchange @CStamp@mastodon.social @mastodonmigration@mastodon.online No hierarchy will save you from hierarchy.
@flesh @mastodonmigration @CStamp that’s why: matriarchy.
It was my initial misconception too, but
“Despite the difference in the distribution of power, a matriarchy is not the opposite of a patriarchy. In a patriarchy, women and children are dependent upon the father. However, in a matriarchy, men are not subordinate to women. Matriarchal societies are often described as egalitarian, in which both sexes are considered equal.”
Matriarchy | Political Science | Research Starters | EBSCO Research
Matriarchy refers to a social system where women hold primary power, often leading families, clans, tribes, or states. In these societies, inheritance and lineage are typically traced through the female line, known as matrilineal order, which dictates property ownership and kinship. Matriarchies contrast with patriarchies, where men hold authority, and often feature matrilocal living arrangements, wherein husbands reside with their wives' families. Notable examples of matriarchal societies include the Minangkabau of Indonesia, the Iroquois and Hopi tribes in North America, and the Mosuo in China, each demonstrating unique structures of female leadership and social organization.
The concept of matriarchy has historical roots, with Greek mythology providing iconic references, such as the Amazons—legendary warrior women. However, the actual existence of matriarchies is debated among scholars, with distinctions drawn between matriarchal and merely matrilineal societies. While matriarchies are often portrayed in modern discourse as ideal societies characterized by equality and peace, historical evidence and anthropological interpretations remain complex and varied, reflecting diverse perspectives on gender roles and power dynamics in human societies.

I don't even open Facebook anymore, I don't like the profile pictures of people who meant something to me on top of vitriolic hate... -
@mastodonmigration I found a couple more references.

Shocking images! It’s very confusing to me—as someone directly involved in the photo—that the person in the situation seems to be doing just fine.
Schockierende Bilder!

Option A: The cops didn't realize how this looked.
Option B: The cops knew exactly how this looked.

@dendroniker @mastodonmigration I don't read her expression as "just fine". She's doing something important and she's definitely feeling some feelings. I hope she's interviewed once she's released.
