    @annika
    It would be cheaper for society as a whole to just provide those folks with housing. This has been proven by experiment.

    If elementary morality and compassion mean nothing to the fools doing this, they should at least be reachable through simple economics.

      @annika This one might be one the more ironic instance of art I've ever caught on camera…

          @annika looks like totally normal "gezellig" dutch furniture. but as the dutch are, they made a buck out of their calvinist aversion to anything pleasurable and exported this as weaponized homeless torture devices.

            @annika That's not a bench, it's a handrail.

              @annika Slanted, cold as ice during winter, and not only aggresive for homeless people: more than two minutes sitting there, and your kidneys will shut down.

                @annika

                Worse still are the part-rounded "benches" that require you to brace your feet on the pavement to prevent sliding off and landing on your backside. Thank you SO MUCH, West Midlands Travel. (I must photograph some of this toxic street furniture next time I go into Birmingham city centre.) 3:O#>

                      @annika just like McDonnald's did lots of years ago: designing uncomfortable chairs to kick people out as soon as possible. The state is just another company with the same goals as any other like the clown one. In the subway in Chile there are no chairs: just a tube at mid-height to support your lower back. What about disabled people? Elders? Well: f*ck them. That's especially like that here in Southamerica. 😞

                        @thijsc @annika is this like, real? I would expect them to dress up their language a bit more so it doesn't sounds quite so directly evil

                          @annika The lack of comfortable seating in our public spaces is itself a crime.

                              @annika It's occurred to me that cities should build sheds with bunks in them, like urban bothies. It would be better to have universal social housing, obviously, but it would be at least dignified to ensure that rough sleepers have privacy and shelter.

                                @annika debe protestar ante las instancias adecuadas en vez de por aquí. Si no solo es postureo.
