Happy #SlackerdaySaturday! In other news, it's Kentucky Derby day. Growing up my family used to gather round the TV + watch, cheering on whatever our personal favorites were, based solely on looks or catchy name.
Lately, I watch it alone. TV coverage starts mid-afternoon, but I only need to tune in about an hour before post time to see the horses in the paddock, the walk to the starting gate and the race. The race is over in 2 minutes, but I'll be cheering on my choice with gusto.

It would! When I lived in PA my best friend and I used to meet and watch together. Jeanne would make mint juleps, and we'd make it a special occasion. Now we live 3 1/2 hours apart.
When my granddaughter was little she'd get out her My Little Ponies and mimic the race. Now, at almost 15 it's not cool.

#Today@Sharonbw I got to go twice in the 1980s. We were hired to sing for General Electric, and they gave us tickets for the race. One year I won $600, and then the next morning at breakfast in a diner, Muhammad Ali came in to eat.

#Today@Sharonbw The Kentucky Derby is always a fun event to watch. I love the fascinators. Dylan Dryer did a segment this morning with the woman who creates hers. They showed a grren one that called to me. Like I'd ever wear one.
