      @LappenjammerDieZweite @sundogplanets @socketwench how big of an electric shock does it administer to the mansplainer when the level reaches red?

        @venite @sundogplanets Maybe front & back, because I think they'd be more likely to read it if tits were involved.

          How do you measure relevance of experience?Also, can you count experience in numbers? I mean, when you say "s/he has more experience" how does that compare to less experiences but with heavier weight?

          @Roodie This ^ is whataboutism, an attempt to undermine the point being made, a common follow-on in mansplaining which attempts to contest the mansplained expert's legitimacy and authority.

            I realize that misogyny leads to that kind of behavior far worse than I as a man have ever experienced. But I'm a short man, and can tell you that I've received some of that being ignored pattern also.

                    @someguy

                    It would probably be way less common, if so many people would use an actual definition, instead of just whether it "feels like mansplaining" to them.

                    In some contexts, I've even seen disagreement being framed as mansplaining (which it can be, but not necessarily is), because if you disagree with a woman as a man, you're "explaining your opinion/the reason why you disagree to her", which is just absurd.

                    To many, the term seems to be misleading.

                        I've never seen a single incident of actual mansplaining, that would have needed this chart, since "Do I actually care about this topic, or do I just want female attention?", would have already been enough.

                                    Sometimes people who are just trying to be helpful offend others by not recognizing their sense of authority. So it becomes an opportunity to punish someone.

                                      Theoretically, in some alternate universe where women hold most of the power and have historically steamrolled right over any man who dared to know stuff, maybe. In the universe we actually live in though, womansplaining is not a thing.

                                        @Roodie This ^ is whataboutism, an attempt to undermine the point being made, a common follow-on in mansplaining which attempts to contest the mansplained expert's legitimacy and authority.

                                          @sundogplanets

                                          Tend to have an annoying habit of agreeing wholeheartedly with a post, then adding link dumps of examples & expansions of how wonderfully correct they are.

                                          It's mistaken for mansplaining.

                                          Or as hijacking the intent of their post.

                                          Or as "Teaching grandmother to suck eggs" .
                                          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teaching_grandmother_to_suck_eggs

                                          Apologies once again for the irritation this habit causes.

                                          You know your stuff, comments from the peanut gallery aren't always helpful.

                                          For some reason I haven't thought of your dropping multiple links as mansplaining, instead it comes across as providing helpful resources.
