    @Christo_459
    That is clearly true, yet they exsist.
    Is this a failing of us, the common people, or of the human condition, of which we are all affected by?
    And of course... what to do?

      @Christo_459 I seriously doubt that that is enough. In fact I think it is an idea put about because it is more palatable to the public than what is really needed, laws to stop the accumulation of such wealth.
      It maybe a good first stepping stone I guess.
      Mind you, such laws would need to be world wide, and that will be tricky.

        Can't stop thinking about

        "He did not say “I’m so sorry.” He did not say “Do you need anything?” Instead, he made a face, and in an instant, an aide came and whisked him away. When presented with the opportunity for empathy, even performative empathy, he chose escape."

        @johentsch Aye, it’s both chilling and terrifically sad.

          @eclectech Quite the treatise. For me, the observation that removing consequences for bad actions is the key. Why does anyone do anything? Why does anyone NOT do something they want to do? In repairing our society, we will need to create durable consequences for anti-social and/or criminal actions.

            @eclectech It is disturbing. It frames the ultra rich in a way that feels so accurate based on their actions. Great read.
