@benroyce This kind of bothsideism is what has gotten us in this situation in the first place. The only Dem I can think of who "sucks" is Fetterman. Name another one or give it a rest

There is room in the Democratic party for different points of view. It's our diversity that gives us strength. Purity tests will defeat us every time

@benroyce @davoyager I’ve already seen two sets of people in Texas:

        1) They didn’t vote for Crockett. They failed us again. I won’t turn out in November.

        2) Talarico is a Fetterman. I won’t vote for him.

Both failed strategies for improving our current situation, especially since TX MAGA cannot figure out which flaming shit bag they like, Cornyn (played racism for support) or Paxton (anti-trans and cuttting deal to drop out).

such people are entitled morons helping fascism

they don't even exist on the left

oh yes, they think of themselves on the left. but they are not of the left:

they do not have effective agency for leftist concerns and agendas

what they have is psychological conditions of mindless cynicism, learned helplessness and toxic idealism

or they are straight up agent provocateur MAGA putting leftist symbols on their profile then working a divide and conquer troll angle

@christopherbrown Give Talarico another look. The idea is to defeat Cornyn . I believe Crockett couldn't do that in Texas. Also I love her work in the House and I think she should stay there for a while.

            right, but just to clarify:

when you post this is your intent

"both sides the same, don't vote"

thus helping MAGA, intentionally or unintentionally

            or is it

"so replace corporatist dems with real leftists by showing up in the primaries"

            please note:

i'm not accusing you of anything

i'm saying: when you post this, you need to finish the point of your post

otherwise you feed this sort of cynical hopeless whiny entitled perfectionist turd who only helps fascism

the #Democrats do suck. it's not just #Fetterman. many go "aw shucks" and then speak for their special interest donors instead of the people

              but

              the Dems are also #AOC, #Mamdani, #Talarico, #Warren, etc

              so

we show up in the #primaries and get 50 Mamdanis on the #ballot for the November #election

if instead someone goes "Fetterman exists, therefore all Dems are the same as the #GOP" they are #trollfarm from the right working a divide and conquer angle, or they are a moron

                2. an actual revolution is 1 million X suffering. then who wins might even be worse. but even with a good result, we preserve it BY VOTING

@benroyce @davoyager I’m guilty of #moron. DNC’s favoritism towards neoliberal status quo meat shields who represent their donors erodes my confidence in grassroots success. Maybe this will finally be the time in my life when there’s such overwhelming support for real progressives that we see an end to capital deciding our fate? Or maybe they’ll wait until Super Tuesday and install the beleaguered skeletal husk of Joe Biden again, then replace him with Gavin Newsom backed by Palantir & Anduril.

@davoyager I have no choice but to vote Talarico. Crockett did not win the nomination, voting GOP is not an option, sitting out is not an option.

As @benroyce has been saying lean hard left, then vote for what you get. I voted for Crockett in the primary, but I’m not all wastey panty over her not winning.

@benroyce @davoyager what’s really soul crushing is when you hear about a candidate running unopposed. How do we not have a database with good UI/UX that independents & newcomers seeking party support can find races where their only competition is some 1,000 year old okiedoke who hasn’t brought their best for decades?

@benroyce @davoyager what’s really soul crushing is when you hear about a candidate running unopposed. How do we not have a database with good UI/UX that independents & newcomers seeking party support can find races where their only competition is some 1,000 year old okiedoke who hasn’t brought their best for decades?

we can build it. that's an important job, among many important jobs we have to do

but job #1 is we need to show the fuck up

it's either this or pitchforks, folx, take your pick.

@saltywizard @benroyce @davoyager Which is it? Pitchfork or pick? The former would be better for tossing out rotten old garbage, but the latter better for fossilized blockheads.

the #Democrats do suck. it's not just #Fetterman. many go "aw shucks" and then speak for their special interest donors instead of the people

                                    but

                                    the Dems are also #AOC, #Mamdani, #Talarico, #Warren, etc

                                    so

we show up in the #primaries and get 50 Mamdanis on the #ballot for the November #election

if instead someone goes "Fetterman exists, therefore all Dems are the same as the #GOP" they are #trollfarm from the right working a divide and conquer angle, or they are a moron

@benroyce @davoyager so true. Contructive, not fatalistic. People suck, but some suck far less 🙂

                                        @benroyce @saltywizard @davoyager That's a good way to get ahead of a governance crisis.

                                          @mattdm @davoyager

                                          thank you

and help your own goal you just stated by always denoting that in posts that point out how much the democrats suck

                                          "democrats suck"

                                          1. "...therefore don't vote, and only help MAGA and fascism"

                                          2. "...therefore vote in the primaries, to get real left candidates"

ALWAYS indicate #2 in your posts, so that #1 is not the effect of your posts

@benroyce @mattdm @davoyager #2, and it's the only reason I'm a registered Democrat: depending on the candidates, I might "throw away" my vote for a bona fide socialist or as close as I can find to one. Note: I did not do that last year and Harris and our Democratic Senator who was up would've won my state even if a pretty sizeable bunch of us had.
