I watched too many Techmoan videos lately and might have acquired an ancient Tonhöhenschwankungsmesser in unknown condition to restore and use.

@janbeta Finally a good way to calibrate all the Datassettes!

@janbeta Today I realised: the Polish word "szwankuje" (it's malfunctioning) is yet another borrow from German
Should have figured from it's agressive sound

@janbeta What a great German word, tells you all you need to know about what it does

@janbeta they missed an opportunity here to call it "Wow-O-Meter" or "Flutter-O-Graph"

@root42 Maybe it’s a bit überqualifiziert for that but I’m definitely going to use it for those, too!

@Datassette_User Indeed.

@Sylvhem Popped up on eBay, there seem to be quite a few of these around there still (albeit for more money than I paid). Search for Woelke (which is the manufacturer) wow & flutter meter or Tonhöhenschwankungsmesser. Prices are mostly way over the top though, I got lucky.

@dec_hl Haha, true!

@Datassette_User One of the few advantages of the German language, I guess. You can just make up compound words that basically include the whole manual in themelves…
