on the other hand, oof, this is going to be deeply politically complicated for him to navigate given that it's impossible to separate participation this year from perception of tacit approval for Israel's continued inclusion in the event.
I'm currently on the fence about even watching it.

@gsuberland I've not watched for years. Nothing to do with Israel. But if I wanted to make a point of protesting against their involvement, I'd watch it but turn off during Israel's performance. Suspect that would send a clearer signal.

@gsuberland Also on the Politics front, there's this berlin podcast that has been hosting their own event for a few years where they just put on youtube videos of past performances and do their own voting and stuff for charity. So that's a fun type of thing to host if you still want the experience.
