    having mixed feelings about Look Mum No Computer being the UK's Eurovision entry.

    on the one hand, hell yeah, excellent choice.

    on the other hand, oof, this is going to be deeply politically complicated for him to navigate given that it's impossible to separate participation this year from perception of tacit approval for Israel's continued inclusion in the event.

    I'm currently on the fence about even watching it.

      @gsuberland what, on the one hand that's so random, but on the other hand, yeah, why not!

      I don't really understand how they're gonna do the whole synth thing because you're not allowed to have live instruments on stage 🤔

          @gsuberland I've not watched for years. Nothing to do with Israel. But if I wanted to make a point of protesting against their involvement, I'd watch it but turn off during Israel's performance. Suspect that would send a clearer signal.

            @gsuberland Also on the Politics front, there's this berlin podcast that has been hosting their own event for a few years where they just put on youtube videos of past performances and do their own voting and stuff for charity. So that's a fun type of thing to host if you still want the experience.
