I realise this is a small thing in the scheme of everything, but FFS...
A staycation is staying at home and doing holiday stuff.
Booking holiday accommodation and traveling away from home is a holiday - EVEN IF IT'S THE SAME COUNTRY.
Cannot adequately express how much this bugs me.
The UK is set for a staycation summer - and there are plenty of hidden gems

and ofc hooray for airbnb and booking.com, given the rental crisis
(and the fact that b.c at least (not sure about airbnb) allows people to book holidays homes owned by israeli settlers in occupied palestinian territory. so giving them business is fine, just fine ...) -
