      @forty2 All that space to walk around behind the shelves is absolute genius. I am very very impressed. Congratulations!

        @forty2 Nicely done indeed.

        What do you do for electrical - one 15A circuit for the whole space, or a few? Are your power strips on separate circuits?

        Love the rear-access to all the gear. So user-friendly.

          @ottaross I ran 2x 120V 20A circuits each on their own home run, on opposing legs. There are 3 quads in the ceiling, one at the corner, and one at each end, each with both circuits, so I can plug in power strips in to either circuit & leg. Right now it’s all on one circuit, and I may run the whole thing through a 20A variac just to knock the line voltage down from 125V to a more geriatric gear friendly 115V or so.

                      @forty2 @ottaross

                      To get a reduced mains voltage without the need for a big variac, you can use a 125V mains-powered transformer (e.g., filament transformer) with secondary/secondaries in series with mains to take away some voltage. This scheme entails kVA proportional to the voltage dropped (e.g., 12.6V) instead of the voltage supplied (e.g., 125), thus 10x less iron. It does not result in isolation, but isolation wasn't the stated goal.
