I really liked Mark Carney's speech.

But we need government to do its part. This video was shared on American social media network YouTube. Why? We have video networks at home. We have the CBC. We have government Web sites. This is a post by our government, for our citizens. It should be hosted here.
@evan exclusively offered on YT. I've yet to see a full copy elsewhere. CBC and other Canadian media probably can't copy it from YT due to copyright. Carney is a fool or a liar on this.

@johnefrancis @evan Did Carney say something about why it is on Youtube? I'm asking based on the fool/liar comment.
I'm admit that I was multitasking when I listened to his statement, so if he said something in the video, I missed it. Also, did a quick kagi search and couldn't easily find anything relevant.

It was shared there because that's a way to reach more people.
Regarding the speech itself, it's just more pablum. Carney has allowed Trump to dictate our tax policy (cutting the DST as soon as Trump demanded), and has allowed Trump to dictate our defence spending (the Liberal's policy platform was for 2% of GDP, but due to Trump's demands, Carney increased the goal to the ludicrous level of 5% -- contrast that with Spain, one of the few nations that truly has taken stands against Trump).
Everything he says is predicated on Trump's whims. He supported the war in Iran (later "with regret", but always maintained that support); his criticism of Israel's attack on Lebanon is in line with Trump's viewpoint (in that Trump himself criticized it); he supported the action on Venezuela; his minister of foreign affairs, Anand, only sent aid to Cuba after okaying it the Marco Rubio; he's allowing Canadian made weapons to be used by Israel in their genocide of Gaza (via the refusal to enact Bill C-233 -- Rob Oliphant, secretary to Minister Anand, stated the bill would "severely hinder our defence industry"), etc.
Right wing austerity neoliberal governments are always signing deals with various nations for so-called free trade. So that's not new. And usually such leaders, like Harper and now Carney, fawn over Brock's role in 1812 (1).
It's all to convert us into a militaristic petrol state that appeases the US.

The American president doesn't use the big American social networks for his announcements. Why is the Canadian prime minister using them? #ElbowsUp
(Donald Trump has not always posted on Truth Social, and his campaign has used other social network platforms. Truth Social is kinda big. Other US presidents and politicians have used big American social network platforms.)
