    @Viss wow. It was $5.50 for diesel. Regular gas is about $3.60 and premium was a bit over $4 (but varies wildly based on station). A lot of places will be switching to summer blend soon so it’s going to get bad.

    @jerry @Viss It's madness. It's $4.75 here for premium, about a dollar less for regular. I am glad I don't drive. But I am not looking forward to what this is gonna do to the price of food soon.

      @Viss @jerry

      £ 137.9p for E10 Petrol and £158.9 for Diesel per Litre.

      Multiply by 3.78541 to convert to US Gallons 🙂

        @paul_ipv6 I don’t think we’ve seen the worst yet. But yes, agree. Inflation is about to 🚀

        if this drags on and the houthis close the bab-el-mandeb and both hormuz and suez aren't open for days to weeks, along with skyrocketing diesel prices in the US, both intl and domestic shipping are going to grind to a slow trickle. everything is going to be scarce, expensive, or both. going to get ugly indeed...

              @Viss @jerry

              It's varies a lot here. There was a fuel station about 10 miles away which is often £0.10 per litre less expensive.

              Our EV car costs £0.07 x 85KW so £5.85 to fully charge.

              That will get us around 300 miles. We normally only go to 80% charge unless going on a very long journey 🙂🤷‍♂️

                @paul_ipv6 @jerry Oil is just one worry, it's the fertilizer impacts right now that have a long tail into the rest of the year. It's so bonkers.

                    Made it back home from the beach. The price of diesel had gone up $1/gal between my drive down 2 weeks ago and back home today. It’s gonna be like Covid times soon with no one going anywhere.

                    The good news is that I managed to fix all the stuff my winter renters broke in my condo before spring and summer rentals get going 😅

                    It’s a bit frustrating how hard they are on stuff. I wonder if they’re like that in their own house…

                          everything we ship. raw materials, parts, food, fuels, all going to be impacted if the eastern part of the Med is closed off from the Indian Ocean. this will drag for months *after* things calm down.

                            @jerry This is always what I wonder about people who don't clean up after themselves in the office kitchen. Either you:
                            1 - are great at home, but a lazy jackass at the office because you can get away with it, which tells me what kind of person you really are
                            2 - you live like this at home which tells me what kind of person you really are

                                @simonzerafa @Viss @jerry try $8.22 per gallon for regular. 😳

                                Good thing I drive an EV and have PV on the roof. But of course inflation will still be sky high soon enough.

                                  @jerry The moment something belongs to them, the attitude changes. Something that helps: if they know that you know people that know them 😏.

                                    One of the best things I did was nail on clear plastic corner protectors on all the corners of the walls. I swear the renters were playing bumper cars with their luggage. I used to have to spend two days rebuilding and repairing and repainting corners but haven’t had to since I installed them. Now I just have to fix the washer and dryer that I guess they launder bricks in, and replace broken toilet seats and fix broken table legs and replace burned out garbage disposals. I’ve gone through 3 sets of washers and dryers in the 5 years I’ve owned the place. Two of the sets have been commercial. So far, they haven’t killed the speed queens. But I know they will eventually.

                                      @jerry it's truly astounding what renters do. I hope you can ban the worst offenders and not rent to anyone under 25 through your agency. We did that for the 25 years we rented out the beach house (only 5 or so sets of people were outright banned). I stopped renting it in 2016 and that was a great decision.

                                        @noplasticshower under 25’s aren’t allowed to rent per HOA policy (and maybe city law too?), and we use a rental management company to find and screen renters. As far as I know, it’s rare to get the same renters.

                                          @jerry we had pretty many repeaters who were very sad when we stopped renting. I guess that was an anomaly.
