    @hpod16 lol ethical with an AI button, I have questions about that.

    But indeed people are looking for networks outside of the US. So sad it's going to lead to another wave of walled-in platforms like spoutible and spark etc. This one's not going to fly, I guess, with a whole 109 followers on IG. Can't find anything on it.

    Another set of influencers should start their own instances here, like the #Forkiverse

    @erikcats Yeah, I don't see this one flying either, but who knows.

    I am curious though, if any of these new european solutions will manage to take hold.
    I'm seeing so much more of this these days than I used to, so I think there's a real moment right now. Which is a good sign. Europeans are waking up to the need for #DigitalSovereignty

      Not sure what to make of this yet, if it's legit or a scam (considering I found this in the comment sections of the #EuropeanCommission on #LinkedIn).

      I'm just saying it's indicative of a desire for #EuropeanAlternatives.

      @hpod16 is it indicative or are people just speculating and trying to get big.

        @aetios
        cannot both be true?
        These platforms wouldn't be popping up in this quantity if there wasn't a perceived need in society

          @erikcats AI and also gambling? "Prophecies to bet on the future" The events idea I like though. I'd love to see an activitypub implementation of that. @hpod16

              @hpod16

              they mention no ads (ever) 🤣, but don't mention how they are going to be paying for their costs. When you don't mention the giant elephant in the room you are not credible.

              For what it is worth, it seems they are trying to be a "prediction market", bringing to Europe the latest dystopic US "innovation".

              In the end this is the real challenge for any alternative that respects the "European norms and values". How do you fund the thing?

                @hpod16 They clearly didn’t do any market research if they claim to be the first one. I feel like a lot of these are vibe-coded.

                  @hpod16 if their software is not open source, they are no ethical. If they use "algorithms" to increase engagement, they are not ethical. Also they must be federated and interoperable.

                      @Gargron
                      Ohhhh that’s a really valid point!
                      Vibe-coding could be a big reason so many of these are popping up now! 💜
                      It’s never been cheaper to just create a platform and throw it out there
