While I support this initiative – who doesn't want less pesticides, cleaner waterways, more nature – #WorldBeeDay is about all the other bees, whose numbers are plummeting hand in hand with habitat loss. Honeybees don't need saving; that would be like saying we have to save the birds and we start with the chicken.

Die EU-Kommission will bestimmte Pflanzenschutzmittel wie beispielsweise Glyphosat künftig zeitlich unbegrenzt zulassen. Die bislang erforderlichen regelmäßigen Neuzulassungen sollen laut einem Gesetzesvorschlag aus Brüssel abgeschafft werden.
