Reports today that #KansasCity has its first #measles case since 2018. The case is in an unvaccinated adult.

    The #pandemicene is here, folks.

Just watched a TikTok video that my sister sent me from a local news station reporting on it, and the one thing they failed to mention that people can do to protect themselves was MASKING!

Measles is incredibly contagious and IS transmitted through the air (yes, along with the other routes of transmission that you would expect, like fomites). Especially in buildings that are crowded and have poor ventilation, airborne viruses can stay transmissible in the air for quite a long time.

Measles can wipe out your immune system's "memory" -- meaning, everything you've ever had a shot for, everything you've ever developed antibodies against by being exposed to -- all of that is gone. Wiped out.

That is not a situation you *ever* want find yourself in.
