    Is this something IT people deal with regularly? Or is this an outlier? 🤔

          @pheonix it happens. Not often, but it happens. And even though the policies are in place you will still feel bad.

          IT people are mostly very empathetic people that genuinely want to help.

          That is also why the “bastard operators from hell” is so funny: it is not like normal IT people at all.

          Also: don’t get mad with the “marketing department” they really feel IT people are reality defying wizards that can fix everything and they probably really didn’t realize what they did was unfixable. It is in fact a big compliment to the IT team.

              @pheonix
              Ask around for a GNU/Linux user and chances are they still have a local mbsync backup.

                @pheonix Yes, all the time. For us it is not shared mailboxes but files or mostly huge folders shared by someone. If that person leaves the company.. some time later.. you know the rest of the story.

                  @pheonix happens every now and then. Depends a bit on the size of the company how often.
