    I used to find George Carlin’s last comedy specials too nihilistic , but not anymore . I aim to make my performances upbeat and inspiring whenever possible because the alternative is too bleak - better to keep battling even if the conclusion seems inevitable

      I used to find George Carlin’s last comedy specials too nihilistic , but not anymore . I aim to make my performances upbeat and inspiring whenever possible because the alternative is too bleak - better to keep battling even if the conclusion seems inevitable

        Though not for nothing, that that world did lead directly to this one.

        But Carlin's '90s stuff really did bum cynical highschooler me out. He wasn't doing comedy for a while there, just ranting. He made a lot of good points, but some shitty ones too, but hardly any humor either way.

        He came back around with at least one special I remember from the oughts (I think) where he was basically reveling in being a weird old guy.
