    Sometimes I wonder if Summer gets tired of listening to me talk. She never complains so I'll keep telling her all my super secret thoughts. She is discreet and supportive. What more could I want from my daily walking companion?
    Today we agreed that we are tired of the overused word resilient. We don't feel resilient.
    We are survivors who know how to maximize our resources and find contentment with far less than most humans think they need to be happy.
    The road we were driving to the beach is hazardous. Pot holes full of water are hard to judge. It's best to navigate around them all. These days our very existence is like driving this road.
    While we carefully avoided the pitfalls we sang.
    I introduced Summer to the old Three Dog Night song Joy to the World. We sang because we really find joy in each other's company.

              @NorcalGma2

              "Resilient", to me, seems to imply that bad things happen, but they slide right off, leaving no impression/no trace of contact. I don't think that people actually work that way.

              I think that we all struggle with things, and that to an extent, the scars from our experiences define us.

              Sometimes, touting the importance of being resilient just seems like another way to blame the victim of bad things, for not having that magic "resilience".

                Democrats are using the word way too much. It feels like the downtrodden are trying to crawl out from under the oppression instead of standing defiant. I am feeling reasonably defiant these days.

                      @NorcalGma2 Summer is happy to listen, as long as you listen to her, too.

                      Her eyes say, you do.
