Summer is undaunted by the cold and wet weather. She is ready for an adventure.She argues that the exercise is good for both of us. She is always right. I have a warm jacket and no excuse. Our favorite trail looks too busy so we move on to Humboldt Bay. Not our favorite but not anyone else's either so we are able to enjoy the solitude we crave. I asked Summer to stay out of the muddy shore of the bay and she obliged. She still got wet but only from the few mud puddles that weren't bad smelly water. We had fun and minimal clean up required. A win win for both of us. #Summer #DogsOfMastodon

Summer is here pretty much. I was so ready for the warm temps. So glad to be in Fresno. Feels like a dream come true. Walked all over tower today. Here is a night time pic of the Shrine of Saint Therese. #summer #fresno

@NorcalGma2 Good morning to you & all your family, including the furry member.

@FiddleSix Summer slipped out of her collar once on a walk when she was chased by a very aggressive huge chocolate lab. She ran back to me and got between my legs. The owners of the other dog finally got it under control. It was very strange because I didn't expect aggressive dog behavior to come out of an old overweight lab. That must have been very scary. I am going to call Summer's vet tomorrow. She has some kind of sore near her right ear that clearly hurts. I have been putting dog first aid cream on it but it doesn't seem to be helping. She doesn't scratch it but doesn't want me to touch it either. Hopefully they will get her in soon.

@NorcalGma2I think routines and some predictability are very helpful for dogs.It's sweet that Summer waits til she's sure you are through with the chair before settling into it herself.

@NorcalGma2 Summer is so lucky to be able to play on the beach so often!

@NorcalGma2 Once you have the appointment set up at the hospital, you can call them and ask if you can be assured that everyone who cares for you will be masked. I did that in 2024--every time I talked with anyone at the hospital about my procedure--and they agreed to do that. I did have to remind one person (the doctor doing the procedure!!!) that I wanted people masked, but everyone did mask for me...Summer is looking like she hopes no one ever proposes that she have a colonoscopy!
