KiCad folks: Is there a way to make alternate symbols in a multi-unit symbol?

KiCad folks: Is there a way to make alternate symbols in a multi-unit symbol?
I'm making tube symbols in the style of Tektronix (and others) where the A & B units of a Dual Triode would have half the envelope shown.
If I flip one so the grid is coming out the other side, my half circle envelop will be facing the wrong way.
If I made them separate symbols, they couldn't share a single footprint, right?
Is there a less dumb way than making 4 versions of this symbol with each combination?
