    #PennedPossibilities 953 — What author(s) did you dislike at first but grew to enjoy reading?

    Hnn. Probs R.A. Salvatore. Like okay my friend was like "OMG Drizzt" so I read the first ones and was like "this is just okay."

    But I think I was unfair. I read some other WotC stuffs and it was rly clear that they require authors to write to be more accessible for teens. And I sort of FEEL that whole "outcast and trying to be something ppl think I'm not" vibe.

    So it grew on me.

        @tiefling i tried to read his demonwars stuff at some point, and i did not like it for similar reasons to drizzt

        so i don't think it was TSR/WotC at fault

        (i am not from the TSR era so i can't comment on whether they'd want to be as kid-friendly as our current hasbronian overlords)

          @tiefling What a shout. I love R.A. Salvatore, but the work had to grow on me as well.

                @floofpaldi

                Is it worth reading his 5000000 other books? I did like, 4 of them.

                    @tiefling I think so. But everything is subjective. People like different authors. So, you could always try his work and just see.
