@petergleick To be fair, Protestantism technically doesn't consider the Pope to be the spiritual head of their religion.

Honestly, the people in charge of the regime are using Evangelism as the religion they claim to and their god is money. Their only leader is the almighty fleecing, their messiah the one-sided contract.

@altim @petergleick You forgot the quotes.

      He's "Catholic."

My real point isn't even what they claim. Most, if pressed won't specify Evangelism. They'll just say "Christian." It's lip service. In the end what they all truly worship is money and power. None believe a single word of their professed religion and couldn't care less what any religious leaders or even the texts themselves say.

Eventually they will form an official State religion. They will be its leaders.

@petergleick Tricky one. If you're a Catholic and sexually active homosexual, or you're divorced, or have an abortion, or you use artificial birth control, etc your behavior, actions, and morals are at odds with the spiritual head.

@nazokiyoubinbou @petergleick True, but at least JD and a few SCOTUS claim to be catholic.

@ojala @petergleick Yes. Maybe the catholic faith is then probably not the right choice for you.

@axeln @petergleick That would exclude a huge proportion of Catholics, particularly the contraception one.

@petergleick I’m starting to think their religion is actually Amway and not some denomination of Christianity.

A pyramid scheme above all else.

@ojala The issue isn’t whether one disagrees with the spiritual head of one’s religion. The issue is whether or not one goes in front of the national press to assert that one is morally superior to them.

@mighty_orbot I tend to agree with the last part. I’m pointing out that the disagreement is not a sufficient condition. Not even public but respectful disagreement.

@altim @nazokiyoubinbou @petergleick That's what he's saying, but given the track record of the dumpster fire in the whitehouse, that might be just political convenience.
