    @matthew_d_green yeah I'm finding more and more problems while using a VPN. Some sites won't even load.

      @matthew_d_green The rich have control, the poor have chaos. Until they don’t.

          @matthew_d_green
          They beheld its power to organize and grant agency, and they were terrified. Now they are perverting that power to mollify and corral us like cattle.

            @matthew_d_green The governments need to control and suppress any form of free thought. And the CEO overlords need to differentiate real people from AI chatbots to sustain their AI businesses, otherwise, the LLMs would eat themselves.

              @matthew_d_green For every person using a VPN or social media platform, there are thousands of scammers, bots and propaganda agents.

              Since nobody is interested in solving this, politics is solving it for us.

                @matthew_d_green

                Why are you surprised about this ?

                In the last decade Tech-Bro's have worked determinedly to render all courts of justice impotent, so they could roam with impunity, not only economically, but also (a)socially.

                Did you expect nation states to just throw up their hands and go "never mind about equal justice for all" ?

                  @matthew_d_green I understand all that class war replies...

                  ... But as a hosting provider I guarantee you that the "Internet noise" (mostly spam, bot traffic, and automated free pentests) has been horrifically bigger since chatgpt.

                  Filtering that often takes drastic measures and filtering hosting IP or VPNs/Tor is some of it.

                      @matthew_d_green Luckily I haven't encountered any of this yet, but the current plan is to simply refuse. I'm in the process of leaving all "big tech" platforms and services, and I only expect this to accelerate my endeavour.
