So, does anyone still believe that the war is only against Iran? I mean besides EU politicians.

Cutting trade will damage a country greatly. Imagine completely cutting oil (and hence electricity) like the fascist child molester is doing to Cuba.

EU politicians besides Spain? "Great job daddy Trump on Venezuela and Iran! Please spank me too".

                    @nxadm

                    "vogliam nizza e savoia
                    corsica e tunisia,
                    è tutta roba mia
me l'hai truffata, me l'hai rubata,

@nxadm there is no war. They don't want a change in regime either. Weakening and keeping in control is enough. All of this is mostly some act.

@nxadm this will be a speculation, so that I have no facts nor any proof, but I believe that their leader (more akin to a Pope in their belief) who got killed is a concern, however, he was already too old and who knows for how long he would’ve lived. Martyrdom is a very strong concept in there and my speculation is that; since his death was pretty much a stupid occasion, he might have wanted to get killed instead of dying of old age. It can still be stupidity though

I think that martyrdom is useful, but I don't think many people choose it. But he certainly knew it was a strong possibility. How long is the USA boarding about "bunker killers" (B52 bombs).

I think that Trump rushed things for the mid-term elections. I suspect they are overstretched because of the distance and the size of the country.

Basically Trump wants a trade war with the EU.

Because you *can't* cut off trade with a single EU member: it's a free movement customs union with a single currency, there is *no way* to determine that the car you're importing from France isn't being delivered from a factory in Spain.

Trying to ban imports from Spain would be like banning imports from Tennessee. It's all or nothing when you go up again *either* the EU or the USA.

@nxadm if what I think is correct, he basically flipped the bird and said check! His people are now busy with slapping the whipping boys around the gulf.

Also, Spain isn't Canada or Mexico. US trade isn't central to their economy. Looks like they do ~$20B each way w/ US, out of ~$400B total trade.

That's low enough for Spain to invoke national pride, completely boycott US goods. Not so much have a trade war as walk away in anger and disgust.

What would the bully do then?
